Monthly Themes:

October: TBD

November: TBD

December: TBD

January: TBD

February: TBD

March: TBD

Den Display and Setup: This den will bring any projects, crafts, or other items that they have made and display them for the pack to see. This allows other Scouts to view the craftmanship and skilss that are used to create things. Posterboards with pictures would also be nice. You will help the Cubmaster set up the room as he directs and distributes programs if needed. You should arrive at EVE 30 minutes early for this duty.

Flag Ceremony: Your Den should arrive shortly before the beginning of the Pack Meeting. Use all of your Den members in the color guard and make sure their uniforms are in good order. Prior to the Pack meeting, have your Den practice BOTH the opening and closing flag ceremonies. The Pack has two flags that you may borrow to practice with at Den meetings. Chapter 3 in the book Staging Den and Pack Ceremonies is all about the flag. This should coincide with the planned monthly themes, usually ideas can be found in the Program Helps Book.

Song: Have your Den select a song and practice it at Den meetings. Follow the monthly themes. Ideas can be found in the Program Helps Book. It is a good idea to involve the audience, but it is not required. If it does involve the audience, be sure to run through the song once to "teach" it to the Pack. You may use words printed large on boards for the audience to follow or you may pass out sheets with song lyrics.

Skit: Have your Den select a skit, rehearse it at Den meetings and perform it at the Pack meeting. Try to align the theme of your selected skit with the theme of the monthly Pack meeting.

Audience: This should be a part of the meeting to get the audience up and active. It also will serve to get some of the energy out of the boys. It can be an action or say with type of story, such as ones used at the camp fire. It may also be a song (ensure that you have handouts), or a skit that could involve the audience.

Social Time Host: Each family of the den will bring 2 dozen servings of whatever they desire: cookies, bars, brownies, etc. The den also needs to provide about 6 gallons of beverage and some coffee. The pack will provide the cups, napkins, and beverage coolers.

Clean-up: Have all of your Den families be prepared to stay 15 to 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Pack to help clean-up. This includes putting chairs and tables away, disposing of garbage and making sure everything is left the way it was found. The use of the school for scout events is a privilege and not a right. In order to maintain that privilege, we need to leave the room in better condition than how we found it. This will include cleaning up spills and messes in the commons, gym and bathrooms. Vacuuming of the floor will be at the discretion of the janitor on duty. This applies for all dens holding their den meetings at the school as well.
